OPERATIONS MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Metro Lansing Special Operations Team (Metro Team) is to rapidly respond to and/or assist jurisdictions in effectively addressing the consequences of an incident/event involving chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive (CBRNE), toxic industrial chemical release/spill, or a technical rescue operation in collaboration with and supported by local first responders. The response and assistance may include pre-deployment of assets to assist in crisis management activities due to a potential threat. The Metro Lansing Special Operations Team is designed to support local emergency response systems, but is not intended to replace those system functions normally performed by the local first responders. Formal requests for assistance will flow through the local Incident Management System (IMS).
